I am taking a temporary hiatus from my development project to let it perk for a bit, and am looking at a position as a book editor. I would like to submit 3 or 4 of my blogs as a casual writing sample. I know – who wants to sit down for half an hour and read old blogs – but could I prevail on you to let me know a few that resonated with you? Many of you are very fine writers, and I would appreciate your thoughts.
Would you leave the titles you suggest I submit in a comment? Perhaps by Friday? Thank you so much!

I cannot think of a better book editor than YOU, friend! How hard to pick out of so many wonderful writings. I definitely love ‘Across the Kitchen Table’…also ‘Happily Every After’ and ‘Measured’. I could go on and on–but these three speak to me right off. Your writing hits my heart. Thanks for every time you write.

Definitely “Across the Kitchen Table” (but that’s just me; I love your way with words: I’ve been energized, exploded in laughter, pondered for days, seen new possibilities, and sometimes cried in a good remembering way),”Struck by Lightening”,”The Woman in the Glass” are just a few. What an exellent idea! A book editor is PERFECT for you!!

I’ve loved a lot of them but “Across the Kitchen Table” touched my heart, even more than normal.

So many to choose from, but I felt particularly blessed by your words in “Sarah’s Key,” “Foxholes and tin punch lanterns,” “The Lord’s Question,” and “Valuable Voids.” And there were so many others that I really, really, really enjoyed.

Bonnie,
I am sorry to post this here but I couldn’t find an email address to contact you at. I have been reading your blog for several months and am so impressed by your writing. It is beautiful. I wish you all the best as a book editor, you will be great. I was wondering though if you are you are looking for experience editing books (maybe to beef up your resume) because I am working with several other women to write a book called “The Gift of Giving Life:Rediscovering the Divine Nature or Pregnancy and Birth”. We are self- publishing it and are nearing the final editing stages and we really need a good editor to read over it and fix the mistakes we have made and to give us an outsiders opinion. I don’t know if we’d be able to pay you but we might be able to do some sort of exchange or other swap for services. The book is going to be about 300-400 pages long and has essays by dozens of different women. I don’t know if this is something you’d be interested in but if it is please email me at heatherlady at gmail.com
Thanks!
